10 Things to Do in Branson

Dubbed as the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’, this popular tourist destination has over 40 live performance theatres and it’s also known for its museums. Here are a few highlights for all the family.

Visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum

This bizarre building is probably the most famous attraction in Branson and is part of the Ripley franchise of museums. It was constructed with its famous crack in the wall as a reminder of the devastating earthquake in New Madrid, Missouri in 1812.

Visit the Titanic Attraction

400 artifacts are housed in this remarkable building, a half scale replica of the doomed ocean liner. The museum is anchored in the water giving the visitor a feeling of being at sea. The Titanic hosts birthday parties and couples can renew their wedding vows.

Visit Branson Auto Museum

The ever-changing exhibition consists of a collection of beautifully maintained and restored classic cars dating from the 1920s, many of which are for sale. Rare toy cars, pedal cars, and trains are also for sale and there is a shop for hotrod parts and accessories.

Play at Branson Family Fun Factory

There are three components to the center and they are a themed 18-hole indoor miniature golf course, a laser tag with different games types, and a game room. The center hosts celebrations and corporate meetings.

Take a Ride on the Branson Scenic Railway

Board at the historic 1905 depot and ride 40 miles through the foothills of the Ozark Mountains on a vintage locomotive whilst listening to the narration about the history and wildlife of the area.

Go on a Family Day Out at Silver Dollar City

Go on one of the rides, including a steam train; be entertained at a live show, watch craft demonstrations, and browse round the specialty shops and galleries. The Culinary and Craft School offers lessons in craftwork and home cooking.

Splash Around at White Water

Re-opens May 2010

This is the only outdoor water park in the town. There are various rides including water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. Shoot the rapids and go on a raft adventure. Younger children have their own designated area.

Get Close to Nature at Butterfly Palace and Rain Forest Adventure

More than 1,000 tropical butterflies from around the world have made their home here and visitors can move amongst them. The attraction also presents a 3-D movie, the Emerald Forest Mirror Maze and a zoo containing scorpions, tree frogs, and geckos.

Cruise with the Showboat Branson Belle

Trips on the Showboat Branson Belle, a good old-fashioned paddle wheel riverboat, include dinner shows and lake cruises on Table Rock Lake. The boat is an impressive sight and carries up to 700 passengers.

Play a Round at a Branson Golf Course

Golfers are spoilt for choice in the area around Branson. There are several courses with excellent amenities, landscaping and wonderful scenery for players of all abilities. These include Thousand Hills Golf Course and Top of the Rock Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
